Genome Information for Glycine max
To identify genes controlling soybean seed protein content, 48 diverse high-protein accessions selected from the germplasm collection were mated to one of seven high yield (ordinary protein content) cultivars with a maturity matching the given accession.
More...To identify genes controlling soybean seed protein content, 48 diverse high-protein accessions selected from the germplasm collection were mated to one of seven high yield (ordinary protein content) cultivars with a maturity matching the given accession. About 250 F2 individuals were phenotyped for seed protein content and genotyped with a 1536-SNP chip. SNPs associated with high seed protein were identified. The results of the project will be published in the journal G3, and this journal requires submission of the raw phenotype and genotype data to a public repository.
