Kazusa Genome Project (green plants)

Kazusa Genome Project: genome sequencing and assembly of Viridiplantae

Kazusa Genome Project aims to reconstruct plant classification systems by comparing genome structures. As a first step, we are sequencing the genomes of unexplored orders of angiosperms. To achieve telomere-to-telomere (T2T) level assemblies, we are actively using advanced technologies such as high-throughput chromatin conformation capture and targeted sequencing of previously uncharacterized genomic regions. We are also developing user-friendly plant genome databases to improve data accessibility for a wide range of users. In parallel, we promote the industrial application of genomic technologies and engage in outreach activities to enhance public understanding of our research.
