The moss Pohlia nutans is abundant in the Fildes Peninsula and Victoria Land of Antarctica. They usually occur as small and isolated colonies with short shoots (1-2 cm length). We used a combination of Illumina short read and PacBio Seque HiFi read sequencing approaches to obtain a high-quality genome of P. nutans isolate NO.L. The contig N50 length is 796.64 kb and the scaffold N50 length is 1.09 Mb. A total of 41,374 protein-coding genes were identified combining three annotation strategies, with an average coding-sequence length of 1,353.45 bp and an average of 6.28 exons per gene. Less...
