More...This study surveys the biodiversity of bacterial communities in 12 streams throughout the MDV by looking at sediment and microbial mat samples collected during the peak of the stream flow season. Using 454 pyrosequencing techniques we examined the bacterial community composition and structure as it related to stream location and analyzed the taxonomic dispersal and abundance within stream microenvironments and across individual streams.
