More...Diagnosing central nervous system infection by pathogen genome sequencing is commonly based on long and complex methods, requiring several steps and specialization of the laboratory technician. Here, we diagnosed one case of Haemophilus influenzae meningitis directly from cerebrospinal fluid using Oxford Nanopore metagenomic next-generation sequencing within 5 hours. This approach must be considered for future point-of-care diagnosis of infectious meningitis.
