This study, for the first time, determined the Symbiodiniaceae community structure associated with the bleaching resistant scleractinian coral species Turbinaria mesenterina and coral bioeroding sponge Cliona thomasi competing in the reef ecosystem experiencing seasonal warming and acute thermal stress.
