Agrobacterium tumefaciens strain C58. This strain is a biovar 1 nopaline-producing strain originally isolated from a cherry tree tumor. The genome consists of one circular and one linear chromsome and two plasmids, one of which is the conjugative Ti plasmid that transfers the T-DNA. This genome was sequenced by Cereon Genomics but ongoing work in the Agrobacterium genomics community has led to a merged record containing the Cereon sequence and merged annotation that is considered the gold standard comprised of annotation work at Cereon and the University of Washington.
