Dietary butyrate suppresses inflammation through modulating gut microbiota in high-fat diet-fed mice

The gut microbiota distribution of C57BL/6J mice fed with normal chew diet (NCD), high fat diet (HFD) p and high fat diet with butyrate (HB)

In this study, we evaluated changes of global gut microbiota communities after butyrate intervention, gut microbiota-derived endotoxin and SCFAs, as well as levels of proinflammatory cytokines in high-fat diet-fed mice. We observed that butyrate intervention modulated gut microbiota.
