More...The aim of this study is to sequentially analyze the gut microbiota establishment of low-birth weight preterm neonates admitted in a single NICU during their first three weeks of life, comparing two epidemiological scenarios: a nosocomial S. marcescens outbreak and a normal period.Seven infants were recruited during a normal period (control group), and 12 during a severe S. marcescens outbreak (outbreak group). Each preterm contributed meconium, and feces from days 7, 14, and 21. Gut microbiota composition was determined by 16S rDNA massive sequencing.
