Trematodes are one of the most remarkable animals with complex heterogonic life cycles. Life cycles of a parasitic flatworms include several stages with disparate morphological and physiological characteristics - miracidia, redia, cercaria and adult worm follow each other and infect hosts ranging from mollusks to higher vertebrates. The aim of our research was to identify genes with stage-associated expression which most probably contribute to disparate anatomical and physiological characteristics of the life stages.
