In trying to interpret patterns of variation in population genetic data for Leishmania donovani, we have noticed that annotation of some gene structures are incomplete, missing 5' and 3' UTRs and proper annotation of the transcritpional units from which Leishmania genes are subsequently trans-spliced. We would like to fix this, by generating new RNA-seq datasets that should allow high-throughput annotation of these features. Here we are generateping DNA sequence for the strains available to make sure we can map accurately onto the reference strain. This data is part of a pre-publication release.
