More...In order to establish the risk for soil contamination with Cd and Zn, its effect on bacterial diversity were determined. The soil was characterized physicochemically and placed in pots with Echinocactus platyacanthus that were then contaminated with Cd+2 (20, 30 and 40 mg /kg) and Zn+2 (400, 800 y 1200 mg /kg). DNA extraction from the rhizospheric soil was performed before and after contamination with Cd and Zn individually. The V4 region of the 16S rRNA gene were sequenced in Illumina Miseq 2*300 pb. The soil contamination with Cd and Zn have negative effects on the biological factors evaluated, which were influenced mainly by the interaction plant - bacteria - metal, so they can be indicators of soil quality, being a complement to explain the behavior of metals in the soil matrix, and thus, in this way, to manage to determine reference values of metals more acceptable for contaminated soils.
