More...Here we performed single-cell RNA-seq on 118 single germ cells from newborn (P0) ovaries and the unidirectional development of germ cells was well reflected through the pseudo-time analysis. From the dynamics of gene expression along the pseudo-timeline, it clearly demonstrated the state transitions happened in germ cells from cysts to follicles. Furthermore, our data also highlighted the complexity of the transcriptional control and depicted the regulatory networks in state transitions during follicle formation. Taken together, our study systematically reconstructed molecular cascades in germ cells and identified a series of genes and potential molecular pathways that may have functions in follicular formation and development.
