Genome Information for Prochlorococcus
The ability to amplify and sequence complete genomes at the single-cell level has the potential to revolutionize the way we look at biological diversity by allowing single-cell metagenomics studies.
More...The ability to amplify and sequence complete genomes at the single-cell level has the potential to revolutionize the way we look at biological diversity by allowing single-cell metagenomics studies. The goal of this project is to establish, in collaboration with the laboratory of Penny Chisholm, the ability to sequence DNA templates amplified from single cells following sorting by FACS using the marine cyanobacterium Prochlorococcus sp. as a model.
