More...Macquarie Island is world heritage listed Australian sub-Antarctic territory located in the Southern Ocean. The Island harbors an abundance of breeding sites for migratory mammals and seabirds and is also the location of an Australian Research station that has been operating continuously since 1948. Human impacts have led to several fuel spills on the Island. This project is investigating the impact of the diesel fuel on the indigenous soil microbial population.
