Organizing biological data
EST sequences were produced from 10 different cDNA libraries (representing mycelium and spores) covering nearly the entire growth phase. The 11,085 unique ESTs were clustered into 3,816 contigs and 7,269 singletons. The 7,764 (70%) ESTs corresponded to putative functions or matched homologs from other organisms. It is assumed that another 3,321 (30%) of ESTs with no similarity to known sequences will represent novel genes.
