More...In this work we aimed to create genomic resources for mango. By sequencing RNA from different fruit stages, using NGS 454-GS FLX Titanium technolgy we established a reference transcriptome, consisting of a large portion of the mango transcriptome . This reference was used for re-sequencing of RNA from two different mango cultivars, Tomy Atkins and Keitt by Illumina Hiseq 2000, which in turn revealed a large set of genetic variation in mango . A subset of this variation was utilized in order to explore the Israeli Mango Germ Line Collection and to learn about the utility of this variation as a tool for mango breeding.
