The Bos taurus Y chromosome will be sequenced by Baylor College of Medicine, as part of a larger project with Washington University to sequence the Y chromosome of seven mammals: Macaca mulatta (rhesus macaque), Callithrix jacchus (white-tufted-ear marmoset), Rattus norvegicus (laboratory rat), Bos taurus (domestic bull), Felis catus (domestic cat), Canis lupus familiaris (dog), and Monodelphis domestica (laboratory opposum).
