Genome Information for Auxenochlorella pyrenoidosa
Chlorella pyrenoidosa (C. pyrenoidosa) is one of the most common and best-studied species among Chlorella genus.
More...Chlorella pyrenoidosa (C. pyrenoidosa) is one of the most common and best-studied species among Chlorella genus. Deriving its name from >60% complete proteins (possess of a prominent pyrenoid within its chloroplast) and other essential nutrients, as well as its relatively fast growth rate and wide range of environmental tolerance, C. pyrenoidosa has received the most attention as a commercial species for both heterotrophic fermentation and outdoors mass cultivation. Besides serving as the industrial stain for nourishment purpose, C. pyrenoidosa accumulates ~55% lipids under certain culture conditions, with a favorable fatty acid profile for biodiesel production.
