More...Two mapping populations of recombinant inbred lines were developed. One, with 110 individuals, is from the cross 'IS2807' x '379'. The other, with 91 individuals, is from the cross 'IS2807' x '249'. Both crosses are between pollen donor individuals from the race guinea of the west African group and a member of the ICRISAT collection belonging to the race caucatum of the south African group. The individuals of the mapping population were genotyped using RFLP probes from maize and a library of random sugarcane genomic DNA fragments for one map and a second saturated map was developed by adding AFLP markers.
