A mixed assembly based on sequenced clones and WGS sequence from the Sus scrofa genome was produced by the Swine Genome Sequencing Consortium, working with The Genome Analysis Centre, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute, and Beijing Genomics Institute and The Roslin Institute, University of Edinburgh. The assembly is based on DNA from a single Duroc pig, TJ Tabasco, also known as Duroc 2-14. This pig was from Dr. Larry Schook's group at the University of Illinois
