The University of Lund sequenced the mitochondrial genome of Sus scrofa and compared its organization with the mitochondrial genomes of several other species, including Bos taurus, the blue whale Balaenoptera musculus, the white rhoniceros Ceratotherium simum, the armadillo Dasypus novemcinctus, and human.
