Genome Information for Plasmodium reichenowi
The Sanger Institute is working on a partial genome shotgun sequence of Plasmodium reichenowi. The P. reichenowi genome is comprised of 14 chromosomes with an estimated total size of 25-27 Mb. Completion of sequencing of the P. reichenowi genome will complement the P. falciparum genome sequence and provide a powerful tool for comparative genomics studies.
