Anopheles gambiae (African malaria mosquito)

Sequencing of the Anopheles gambiae mitochondrial genome

See Genome Information for Anopheles gambiae

The complete 15,363 bp mitochondrial genome of A. gambia was sequenced and analyzed, revealing conservation in the organization of the control region, protein-coding genes and rRNAs but divergence in the positioning of tRNAs, when compared to other insect species.
