More...Campylobacter jejuni is one of the leading bacteria causing gastroenteritis and diarrhea worldwide. We have detected drug resistant genes and virulence factors inside Campylobacter jejuni's genomes isolated from poultry chicken faeces from farms and popular markets, turning them into a very concerning problem for environmental and public health. Very few strains of Campylobacter has been reported in South America and no one in Bolivia. Here we report, to our knowledge, the firt draft genomes of Campylobacter strains isolated and sequenced in La Paz, Bolivia.
