Source of sequence data: Washington University Genome Sequencing Center.
Source of DNA used for sequencing: Nora Besansky, University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame IN 46556-0369. The DNA was purified from the Anopheles gambiae Mali-NIH colony, available through MR4. Collected in ... a village near Niono, Mali in June 2005. Established by combining ca. 80 isofemale families that were molecularly identified as A.gambiae M molecular form and karyotyped as 2Rbc/bc; 2La/a. DNA source for plasmid library was adult males; for fosmid and BAC libraries it was pupae of mixed sexes. Total sequence traces comprise 94% plasmid reads (5-6kb inserts), 4% fosmid reads (40kb inserts), and 2% BAC ends (120 kb inserts).
The ABKP01000000 version of this project included low-coverage degenerates from the many minor variant haplotypes in the sequenced population. Those low-coverage degenerates were excluded from this version of the project, ABKP02000000.
