The Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar 4,[5],12:i:- str. CVM23701 whole genome shotgun (WGS) project has the project accession NZ_ABAO00000000. This version of the project (01) has the accession number NZ_ABAO01000000, and consists of sequences ABAO01000001-ABAO01000113.

Salmonella enterica subsp. enterica serovar 4,[5],12:i:- was first identified in the U.S. in 1998 and became the 14th most common serotype recovered from human illness in 2002. In 1998, this was the 4th most commonly identified serotype in Spain. Pulsed field gel electrophoresis (PFGE) patterns for most 4,[5],12:i:- isolates suggests evolutionary links with Salmonella Typhimurium. Annotation added to contigs in September 2008.
