The Heterorhabditis bacteriophora whole genome shotgun (WGS) project has the project accession ACKM00000000. This version of the project (01) has the accession number ACKM01000000, and consists of sequences ACKM01000001-ACKM01001962.
Heterorhabditis bacteriophora strain TT01 was isolated from Trinidad and Tobago soil (H. Mauleon) and thawed from a cryopreserved stock (A. Burnell). It is host for Photorhabdus luminescens subsp. laumondii strain TT01 symbionts (Fischer-Le Saux). The sequenced strain, M31e, was self-fertilized 16 times (Ciche and Sternberg). Genomic DNA was isolated from infective juvenile dauer-like larvae and first and second larval stages hatched from laid eggs (Kim and Ciche). Nematodes were propagated on lawns of P. temperata RET16 bacteria defective in nematode colonization. Genome size is estimated to be 106.3 +/- 0.3 Mbp. (J. S. Johnston). This submission represents sequenced and assembled 454 data from fragment libraries, from 3kb insert paired end libraries, from bac ends and from 3730 plasmids (done at The Genome Center at Washington University).
