Neisseria flavescens (no 16S rRNA gene sequence available) is a member of the Proteobacteria division of the domain Bacteria and has been isolated from the nasopharynx. The sequenced strain was obtained from Nathan Weyand - NRL30031 (H210). This is a Newbler assembly (http://www.454.com/enabling-technology/the-software.asp) comprised of 1/4 plate XLR 454 fragment data with a Q20 coverage of 31.4X. This strain was sequenced as part of the NIH Human Microbiome Project. One aim of the HMP is to build a catalog of reference genome sequences of organisms comprising the human microbiota, and this sequence is contributed as part of that effort.
