Cases of salmonellosis involving Salmonella enterica serovar Tennessee (6,7,z29:-), are relatively uncommon, although they appear to be more frequently involved in urinary tract infections than other Salmonella types. This isolate was taken from a 2006-7 multistate outbreak that was associated with peanut butter, and was recovered from an epidemiologically-linked patient with a positive urine culture.
