The sequence for this assembly was produced jointly by The Broad Institute of Harvard/MIT and The Institute for Genomic Research. The assembly represents 7.6X sequence coverage of the genome and the total length of the contigs is 1.31 Gb. The annotation for this assembly was produced jointly by The Institute for Genomic Research and VectorBase with support from The Broad Institute of Harvard/MIT. Computational methods were optimized with respect to training datasets but gene models and functional assignments have not been manually curated. This release contains a high confidence subset of the gene models predicted, characterized by a minimum level of protein and/or EST support. Long-term curation of the sequence and subsequent annotation updates will be the responsibility of VectorBase at http://www.vectorbase.org.
