Edwardsiella tarda = Edwardsiella anguillimortifera
E. tarda and E. anguillimortifera are homotypic synonyms with the latter having seniority (Sakazaki & Tamura 1975). A request for an opinion to preserve the epithet tarda was submitted by Farmer et al. (1976) but was subsequently withdrawn (Judicial Commission 1979).
