Protein Classification

ARL2BP/CFAP36 family protein( domain architecture ID 10568900)

ARL2BP/CFAP36 family protein similar to ADP-ribosylation factor-like protein 2-binding protein (ARL2BP, also called BART) and cilia- and flagella-associated protein 36 (CFAP36, also called BARTL1 or CCDC104)

9-123 1.28e-47

The ARF-like 2 binding protein BART; BART binds specifically to ARL2.GTP with a high affinity however it does not bind to ARL2.GDP. It is thought that this specific interaction is due to BART being the first identified ARL2-specific effector. The function is not completely characterized. BART is predominantly cytosolic but can also be found to be associated with mitochondria. BART is also involved in binding to the adenine nucleotide transporter ANT1.
