JLPA is a surface-exposed lipoprotein adhesin that promotes interaction with the host epithelial cells. It is found in the genus Campylobacter, and the structure is an unclosed half beta-barrel fold with a wide hydrophobic concave face; this represents a novel bacterial surface lipoprotein.
