WDR19 second beta-propeller
This entry represents the second beta-propeller of human WDR19 (also known as IFT144) and its orthologue from C.elegans, DYF2. WDR19 is a component of the IFT-A complex which is required for retrograde ciliary transport and entry into cilia of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), being involved in cilia function and/or assembly. IFT-A polymerises interacts with IFT-B, and uses an array of beta-propeller and TPR domains to create 'carriages' of the IFT train that engage TULP adaptor proteins. Proteins in this entry are part of the core of the complex which is important for TULP3 localization to the cilia. The core of the complex is formed by the beta-propeller domains of its components (WDR19, IFT140 and IFT122).
