This domain family is found in bacteria and eukaryotes, and is approximately 160 amino acids in length. The family is found in association with pfam00120. This family is the N terminal region of glutamine synthetase type III which is one of the enzymes responsible for generation of glutamine through conversion glutamate to glutamine by the incorporation of ammonia (NH3).
