pfam11774: Lsr2 (This model is not part of the current CDD release)
Lsr2 dimerization domain
Lsr2 is a small, basic DNA-bridging protein present in Mycobacterium and related actinomycetes. It is a functional homologue of the H-NS-like proteins. H-NS proteins play a role in nucleoid organisation and also function as a pleiotropic regulator of gene expression. This entry represents the dimerization domain found at the N-terminal of Lsr2. Lsr2 dimers show a self-associative propensity allowing chromosome compaction and gene regulation in response to external stress.
