pfam11038: DGF-1_5 (This model is not part of the current CDD release)
Dispersed gene family protein 1, region 4
This entry represents a presumed domain present in DFG-1 from Trypanosoma species, whose exact function is not known. It is one of the most abundant proteins in T. cruzi genome and it seems to have a preferential expression in amastigotes (intracellular replicative forms that develop in the mammalian host). It is likely to play a role in cell-to-cell interactions or signal transduction. This domain precedes the transmembrane segment at the C-terminal and based on structure predictions, it may adopt a Ig-like fold.
