Occlusion-derived virus envelope protein ODV-E18 This family of occlusion-derived viral envelope proteins are detected in viral-induced intranuclear microvesicles and are not detected in the plasma membrane, cytoplasmic membranes, or the nuclear envelope. The ODV-E18 protein is encoded by baculovirus late genes with transcription initiating from a TAAG motif. It exists as a dimer in the ODV envelope and contains a hydrophobic domain which is putatively acting as a target or retention signal for intranuclear microvesicles.
