This family of proteins is conserved in fungi. One member is annotated putatively as OPEL, a house-keeping protein, but this could not be confirmed. It contains 5 highly conserved cysteines two of which form a characteristic CGC sequence motif. It has recently been shown that this family is related to known glycosyl hydrolases.
