This is a family of small proteins of approximately 110 amino acids, which are highly conserved from nematodes to humans. Some members of the family have been annotated in Swiss-Prot as being the f subunit of mitochondrial F1F0-ATP synthase but this could not be confirmed. The sequence has a well-conserved WRW motif. The exact function of the protein is not known.
