This domain has a weak sequence similarity to the haloacid dehalogenase-like domain. APP1 catalyzes the dephosphorylation of phosphatidate to yield diacylglycerol and may play a role in vesicular trafficking through its phosphatidate phosphatase activity at cortical actin patches.
