Members of this family assume a structure adopted by most short-chain scorpion toxins, consisting of a cysteine-stabilised alpha/beta scaffold consisting of a short 3-10-helix and a two-stranded antiparallel beta-sheet. They are predominantly found in short-chain scorpion toxins, and their biological method of action has not, as yet, been defined.
