Rap1 Myb domain
This entry represents the Myb domain found in telomeric repeat-binding factor 2-interacting protein 1 (TERF2IP) from animals and DNA-binding proteins RAP1 from yeast. These proteins are involved in the regulation of telomere length, clustering and have a specific role in telomere position effect (TPE). This domain binds DNA in Saccharomyces cerevisiae, but not in animals and Schizosaccharomyces pombe where it may either interact with DNA via an adaptor protein or it may be only involved in protein-protein interactions.
