This family consists of the Urease accessory protein UreF. The urease enzyme (urea amidohydrolase) hydrolyzes urea into ammonia and carbamic acid. UreF is proposed to modulate the activation process of urease by eliminating the binding of nickel irons to noncarbamylated protein.
