This is a family of glycine cleavage T-proteins, part of the glycine cleavage multienzyme complex (GCV) found in bacteria and the mitochondria of eukaryotes. GCV catalyzes the catabolism of glycine in eukaryotes. The T-protein is an aminomethyl transferase.
