This family consists of several Orthopoxvirus A26L and A30L proteins. The Vaccinia A30L gene is regulated by a late promoter and encodes a protein of approximately 9 kDa. It is thought that the A30L protein is needed for vaccinia virus morphogenesis, specifically the association of the dense viroplasm with viral membranes.
