MTH538 TIR-like domain (DUF1863)
This domain adopts the flavodoxin fold, that is, five parallel beta-strands and four helical segments. The structure is a three-layer sandwich with alpha-1 and alpha-4 on one side of the beta-sheet, and alpha-2 and alpha-3 on the other side. Probable role in signal transduction as a phosphorylation-independent conformational switch protein. This domain is similar to the TIR domain.
