pfam05349: GATA-N (this model, PSSM-Id:310154 is obsolete and has been replaced by 461628)
GATA-type transcription activator, N-terminal
GATA transcription factors mediate cell differentiation in a diverse range of tissues. Mutation are often associated with certain congenital human disorders. The six classical vertebrate GATA proteins, GATA-1 to GATA-6, are highly homologous and have two tandem zinc fingers. The classical GATA transcription factors function transcription activators. In lower metazoans GATA proteins carry a single canonical zinc finger. This family represents the N-terminal domain of the family of GATA transcription activators.
