RNA recognition motif 2 (RRM2) found in heterogeneous nuclear ribonucleoprotein A3 (hnRNP A3) and similar proteins
This subgroup corresponds to the RRM2 of hnRNP A3, a novel RNA trafficking response element-binding protein that interacts with the hnRNP A2 response element (A2RE) independently of hnRNP A2 and participates in the trafficking of A2RE-containing RNA. hnRNP A3 can shuttle between the nucleus and the cytoplasm. It contains two RNA recognition motifs (RRMs), also termed RBDs (RNA binding domains) or RNPs (ribonucleoprotein domains), followed by a long glycine-rich region at the C-terminus.
